White x in black box instead of picture

    When view site it shows a white x in a black box instead of a picture. When in the edit mode the picture shows up fine. Started about a week ago. How do I restore pictures to blog?

    Have you exhausted your free media storage space? Look on your Media Library page at the top to see if that’s the case or not.
    Dashboard > Media > Library

    Have you deleted images from your Media Library? If you delete an image file from your Media Library then you are removing it from WordPress.COM servers and it cannot be displayed when a browser calls for it. In order to have the images display you have to upload them again.

    Have you hot-linked to images hosted on an other site?

    When you do that without permission the owner of the image can stop it from displaying on your blog.

    Alternatively when you do have permission the image may not always be available for display so you may see an error message such as: “We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched” or words to like effect.

    (c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state.
    (d) Provide the URLs for posts or pages that you are witnessing this issue in.

    Thanks for the response while this and your Blog are interesting, none of the suggestions solved the problem. The problem is only WordPress pictures and started a week or so ago and I had not made any changes. Seems like a WordPress glitch. Hello Blogger.
