Who are my readers?

    Hi WordPress,

This is Andrew Langalis, my blog is stayfrostyandy.wordpress.com . I’ve noticed some more traffic on my blog recently. Currently, I am in Abu Dhabi but I am originally from Connecticut. I can’t see the specific states that the views are coming from. If I view my site, does I come up as a US viewer or someone in Abu Dhabi? Also, under the views section, I understand that I am the author of all posts. Under authors, if I click the drop down menu, it shows specific posts that are viewed. Is that me viewing the post? Or is that the specific posts by me that are view by other people? For example, today it says Color has one view under authors, but I haven’t viewed that post today.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best,
    Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

We don’t show individual states for any countries. Also, we don’t count your logged in visits to your own site. But if you visited it while logged out, we would try to determine the country origin of you internet connection, and you would count as a visit from that country.

Is that me viewing the post?

If you’re logged in, the view is most likely from someone else, since we don’t count logged in visits to your own site. The only exception I’ve seen to this is if your browser loads up page previews for you. I have seen that count as a “view” in some cases.

Let us know if you need more help!
