Who Broke The Forum?
-
Oh god, is that why we’ve gotten the completely non-WP questions like “how do I set my blog as the start page for all our networked computers” and stuff? I had no idea. I know one forum I’ll be avoiding in future.

The WordPress com import statement for the CSS:
‘
<!–[if lt IE 7]>

<![endif]–>

‘
What a mess.
The very first call gives a 404. :)
You just can’t get the staff. :) -

How much reaction has there been from any automaggic employeee in this thread which is now nearly 3 hours old?

You know what’s weird? The only staff or mod function I can see having happened in the forum (other than borkage) for hours is the thread about the vicious Chinese blog scraper seems to be missing. Or maybe I just can’t find it; I know it got moved, but I was gonna paste the link to report him to Google.

@raincoaster
Matt came on the forum yesterday and posted to a few threads. One was this one where I reported forum weirdnesses dating back to July 25th https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=13764 The blog scraper thread was “closed”. -

Yup. I’d say there are major changes going on in the backend shrouded in the sounds of silence. ;)
We have seen some changes to the wordpress.com sign in page, changes to the forum and probably changes to the dashboards are next. Only staff can effect these changes and only staff can effect this breaking of things, right? ;)

I just now popped in and saw this thread. It gave me a laugh, especially the lolGeek.
I didn’t notice the CN splogger thread was closed. As long as is still here somewhere, that’s good. I wanted to do a write-up on it, as well as the ones people are complaining about on Flickr, when I had some spare time.
Anyways.. sorry I missed out on the wackiness. I was trying to actually get some work accomplished. Didn’t make much progress, though.

Apparently they were having meetings with usability experts at Wordcamp and planning site ‘improvements’, so the breakages may be the result of that. You know what they’re like: they never tell you ‘we’re going to do this now, there may be some disruption’, they just forge ahead and when it’s finished say ‘look at this shiny new thing we’ve done! (by the way, that’s why the site has been breaking)’.
