  I have my site set to private. Is there away i can let certain people see it only?

  I understand how this works. But I don’t them to be able to publish or comment. Just read. I’m using WP to write a book. and want my friend to be able to see the progress.

  They can’t publish anything at all unless you add them as official users.

  Then disable commenting. All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion

  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  I’m pleased to say I have full mobility again and I’m recovering, albiet slowly. The results of my last scans will be available today and I’m feeling positive about what they will show. Thanks for your concern.
