who deleted my site

  Greetings,

  I am co admin of the wordpress : mouvementcitoyenslibres
  Site was deleted some hours ago, could you please see in the logs who deleted it ?

  I am sure only the owner can do it, but he denies it .
  I will need an officiel reply as it is about an existing entity in belgium.

  I am trying to recover my backup to blogdumcl as the first blog name is not more or not yet available.

  As stated on mouvementcitoyenslibres.wordpress.com the site was deleted by an author. For privacy reasons we do not provide details about which user deleted the site.

  @bdukes – I thought you had to be at least an Admin to delete a site and that Editors could clear content and not delete the entire site & name

  Has something changed? or have I been mistaken these many years?

  Hey Auxclass,

  We actually did some testing on this, any admin can submit the site for deletion. In the event that an admin who is not the owner attempts to delete the site the owner’s email address will be sent the verification link not the admin’s.

  I guess I should have made that more clear, that the site was deleted by the owner (or at least the confirmation link was sent to them).

  To answer mclolivier a little more directly, the site was deleted by the owner. If you have any question then you will need to contact them directly.

  @bdukes – Meaning there’s now an extra step needed to delete a site for any Admin who is not the site owner? Excellent news!

  blogdumcl.wordpress.com seems to be a clone of the above site.

  @Jen that is correct, If you were the owner of example.com and I was an admin I couldn’t delete the site without you, the owner, needing to click the confirmation link.

  Step 5 – The blog owner will receive an email with a confirmation link. If you are absolutely sure you want to delete your site, click on the link.

  In other cases – the claim was that a rouge Admin deleted a site -this seems to be Club Penguin sites with what others in the forum said was the tendency to have many Admins – the claim seems to be that it was not the owner – so that is why I was asking about several threads I have seen and helped with in the forum over some time prior to this one

  And there have been some cases where people left their computer logged into a site and someone else deleted a site out of spite (little sister was mentioned twice) –

  I know the confirming email should shut down a rogue Admin – just the claim over some time that it did not – but then I don’t have access to any of the logs for a site (I assume that the IP address is one of the logged fields so if something on my site was deleted a tell would be if the IP was from a different country or the other side of the country)
