Who has linked to MY blog?
-
How can I tell which blogs have added my blog to their blogrolls? I am using NEAT as my presentation format. When I first got started, I was using another design briefly, and there was a section in the sidebar that showed this. I added widgets to the sidebar, and the links INTO my blog disappeared. Also, I have seen others ask about removing a widget, and I’ve tried what the experts say, and I still cannot get rid of it.

There really isn’t anyway to tell who links to you except to keep an eye on your referrer’s. When you see a new referrer in the list, you can click on the link and go to their site.
When you first start a blog, there is a default set of widgets that appear. Once you go in to presentation > widgets and add one, the default set will disappear. You then have to manually add in and arrange all the widgets you want in your sidebar.
To remove a widget, you simply go to presentation > widgets, and drag the one you want to remove from the “sidebar” pane back down to the “available widgets” pane. Move down to that area and wait till the widgets in that pane move and then release the mouse button. Typically what works best for me is to drag it down to the area of the widget in the upper left of the “available” pane and the other widgets will move and then I release the mouse button.

Is this your blog? http://godvertising.wordpress.com/
If so perhaps you would like to link your wordpress.com username to it. -> Users -> Your Profile -> In the right hand column locate “website” and enter your blog’s url. Then click “Update Profile”.How can I tell which blogs have added my blog to their blogrolls?
Anyone can choose to link to your blog whether you wish them to or not. Here’s what Technorati has http://technorati.com/blogs/godvertising.wordpress.com?reactions
Here’s another useful link http://wholinkstome.com/
Here’s what they have for your blog http://wholinkstome.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgodvertising.wordpress.com%2FWidgets and theme changes
When you change themes the theme you choose will have a “default” widget display. You will need to go here -> Presnentation -> Widgets and change that display to reflect your preferences. You do this by dragging the widgets you want out of the “Available widgets” box and dropping them in the order you prefer in the “Sidebar” box. Then you click “Save Changes”.If you have used this process that I just described and still cannot remove a widget this usually indicates a browser issue. So if that’s the case with you then please tell us which browser and version of it that you are using.

Thank you all. I’ll just have to deal with the sidebar issue. It’s just not letting me drop the widget back into the “available widgets” box. C’est la vie.

Oops, in a previous post I said to keep an eye on referrer’s, but should have added to keep an eye on incoming links as well.
