Who owns photos I posts on wordpress
I am totally new here, moved from Flicker because it is too social and I don’t feel I have control over who downloads my photos and who owns them, which should be me. I cannot figure out how wordpress works in this regard. Can I control who downloads? Do I maintain ownership of my photos? I want them to be seen , but not used by others.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is a lot of helpful information about content protection here http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/.

Unfortunately, if you post a photo on a public wordpress blog, anyone can download it. You are always the owner under international copyright law, but that doesn’t prevent others from saving and re-using your images. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a clear copyright notice on your blog where you state your images may not be re-used without your permission. It won’t stop anyone from using them, but it makes your case a little stronger when it comes to filing a take-down notice or sueing someone who made money off your photos without your permission.
But you don’t have to make it easy for them. The support doc linked to above mentions adding watermarks to your images. Here’s another article on that: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/02/06/protecting-your-images-online-from-theft/ You can resize your images to the smallest necessary resolution before uploading them to your blog. Not only will it save space on your account for uploads, but it will also make it harder for others to re-use your images if the resolution is low.
