Who sees the admin bar

    Hi I’m new to WordPress.com and I have what might be a naive question but please could someone possibly offer an answer.

    The question: who is able to see the admin bar at the top of the website? For instance, is it just whoever has login roles or anyone who has a WordPress.com account or everyone? I would prefer not to have it there at all as I don’t think it looks very profesional but if it’s just for admins and editors, etc. I could live with that.

    Is there a way to disable this feature?

  • Currently all logged in WordPress.com users will see the admin bar when they visit your site. This can’t be changed.

    It’s the same for sites on WordPress.com VIP hosting – they also show the admin bar. Visit http://techcrunch.com/ while logged in (or any one of a number of sites we host) and you’ll see it there.

    Thank you for your reply. That’s a pity and probably a deal breaker for me I’m afraid.

    No one can see it except for the owner of the blog or other WordPress.com users who are logged in. I can’t see mine when logged out. I only see it, like now while typing this in the forum, when logged in to my own account.

    @swspg
    Why? Would you please be kind enough to share why the display of a nav bar that displays only to you and logged in bloggers who are also hosted by wordpress.com is a “deal breaker” for you?
