Who shared my posts?
-
Hey guys,
I see that there were some shares of my posts on Facebook and Twitter. I have a Facebook and Twitter page where I had shared using my blogspot links but not using the wordpress site’s links. So is it possible to know who shared my posts? For ex: this link has 3 shares http://physicsbasedonbrain.com/2014/03/30/scientists-convince-people-their-hands-are-rocks/ but I have no idea who shared them.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No you cannot personally identify who shares your posts. For a deeper understanding read what’s in this thread please https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/stats-are-confusing-me?replies=35

That post didn’t talk much about shared posts. Currently I see that 23 posts have been shared. Is stat accurate? How are the shares calculated?

The technology for showing who shared a post on Twitter exists, but isn’t integrated here. Because different people have their FB privacy settings at different levels, it’s not possible to display who shared something on FB or where.
The share counter can be glitchy and shouldn’t be taken as gospel. When it fails, it underreports. It never over reports the number of shares.

Hey Arjun!
timethief and raincoaster are right: you can’t really know who shared your posts and if the sharing statistics are at all accurate. However, you must be pleased that your posts are actually being shared. 23 shares ain’t a bad number, sir. :)

druesome,
Thank you :) BTW I have linked my Google+ and Twitter accounts with WordPress. If I share the posts on those two services, will the “share count” on wordpress reflect that? I dont want the “share count” to include my own shares.
