Why always 'Your comment is awaiting moderation'?
-
Every since I signed up for a word press account, every time I comment on a word press blog, my comment is always flagged for moderation. Why is that? Did I do something wrong? Can I fix it? Just to be clear, this is every blog, not just one.

Hi there!
The blog author has a few options regarding comments in the discussion settings.
Before A Comment Appears
Before a comment appears has two different settings.
- If the first setting is checked, all comments will go into moderation and they will need to be approved by an administrator before appearing on the blog.
- If the second option is checked, any visitors that have had a comment approved on the blog in the past will get a free pass through approval and only comments from new visitors will go into moderation.

Thank you, that’s good information. However, I don’t seem to have this issue if I use another email address. It seems to be isolated to the one linked to my wordpress account. I wondered if it was possible that my email address had some global flag on it or something. I post repeatedly on blogs, so it wouldn’t be the “first time post” situation. If I post on the same blogs under a new/different email address, the post appears immediately.

That does seem odd. If you type modlook into the tag box to the right, that will alert a staff member to your request. They may be able to provide more insight into the issue.

Hi there,
There is no “global flag” that can mark your email as always needing moderation. However, blog owners can put your email address or username on an Always Moderate list in their site settings.
If your comments were just disappearing if you posted them it means you might be getting caught in our spam filters, but if your comments are being held for moderation it’s either the comment settings of the sites where you’re commenting, or a site owner has added a rule that your comments specifically must always go to the moderation queue. Neither of those are something that we can help with, as it’s the right of site owners to control the comment settings on their individual sites.
