Why am I asked to sign in?
-
I use two browsers, IE & Firefox. For some flash-related reason, I can’t see my stats with IE lately, so I use FF. But when I do, I’m asked to sign in every time(IE directly opens my dashboard). Is there some setting I can change to get rid of the sign-in page (that fills in my user name and password automatically anyway)? TIA
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You may also want to be sure your Flash is up to date. If so You can use this link http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

With the stats issue with ie you can check here → http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to see if your flash is up to date Also it sounds to me that you have the ie browser set to remember your login in credentials vs you don’t have firefox set up the same way.
P.s. I recommend also clearing your cache and cookies on your ie browser for the stats problem this may clear your login credentials which will require you to signin with your ie browser again. → Browser Issues

@thesacredpath – Thank you, I’ll check that.
@timethief – I downloaded the latest version of flash yesterday, and it didn’t make a difference. PS – I like your new avatar : )
@slikbonez – My flash is up to date, but I will check various browser settings. I hesitate to clear cache and cookies b/c it means having to do a lot of re-registering, doesn’t it.
Thanks all.

No, no! Logging out of wordpress.com and clearing your cache and cookies will not mean you need to do any re-registering. Every time we have a problem we do this.
-
If you mean re-registering, as in signing up for a new account then the answer would be no… But if your referring to having the browser remember your login information then the answer should be no also since the browser stores the login information in a separate folder compared to the cache and cookies folder…
I recommend checking out this open source password manager it’s much safer than the browser method

This is bizarre. I am using IE and had no trouble accessing my dashboard, but was just asked to sign in to post on the forum, for the first time ever. And I have not changed any settings.
I will read timethief’s and slikbonez’s suggestions tomorrow, but I think I’ve had about enough for today. Thanks all.

I don’t know what is going on in the back room, but I have to sign in several times each day for the last couple weeks. It used to be I would sign in in the morning and then sign out at the end of the day when I shut my computer down, but now I am asked to sign in at least 3 or 4 times during the day (typically right after I hit the submit button on a reply here in the forums and of course I lose my response so I have to recreate it a second time).

It’s an effin’ miracle! My stats are back, and I didn’t have to sign in again to post this. @ timethief, I’ll be happy to watch the video you suggest.
@thesacredpath – I sympathize.
