Why am I being charged?

I am trying to use my domain I already have with the free WordPress site, but it keeps charging me $99. What am I doing wrong?

Custom domains are a feature of paid plans and each one includes a domain credit which can be used to map an existing domain. You don’t have to use the Premium plan though, you can also select the Personal plan from this page:
Add the plan to your cart first, then the domain.
