Why am I being charged in Pounds?

Is there a simple way to change the currency of my wordpress site from Pounds Sterling to US dollars. I want to pay for an site but do not want to have to pay a silly conversion rate from pounds to dollars.

Hello. You helped me with my last problem so I was hoping you could help me with this too. WordPress asked if I wanted a free domain with my blog. I chose Rumpelfemme.com. Now it is saying that I need to transfer ownership to wordpress, but I thought I registered it through wordpress at the time that the free domain was offered. When I search Godaddy.com it says that the domain is still available. What do I do? Can I register this domain through WordPress or do I need to register it through Godaddy and go through the process of transferring the ownership to WordPress?
It still says Free Domain Available on my worpress MY SITE. When i click it, it says this domain is already associated with this website but that I need to transfer it from the registrar. In my understanding, wordpress is the registrar.

That domain is not registered yet and you have (by accident) mapped it to your WordPress.com site. I have removed the mapping subscription and you can now go ahead and properly register it by following these instructions:
