Why am I being forced to add a blog to my account?
-
I also note that at the moment, and for a while about 18 hours ago, the forums seem to be under attack from spam posts around one theme relating to one country…

FYI: I am using Firefox and I’m having this problem, so it’s not a browser issue.
KP — Seriously, did someone just recommend cleaning the cache? Really? I’m glad I missed that. I would suppose they would recommend if I closed my eyes the problem would disappear, too…
Really, WP. I’ve been happy for 3 years. Don’t hurt me now.

I suggest changing your password. I’m wondering if this is something wrong that heartbleed bug that was discussed a few weeks ago. Maybe WP was affected by it, and didn’t clean it up in anyway, and maybe somebody hacked things.
My suggestion – when you do get back in, change your password.
WP saying nothing, no emails nothing on this tread, is very disappointing.

I changed my password and I’m back in! My reader has come up and no more of that silly buy another blog shit!
-
My Reader, dashboard etc. now working without the nag screen redirect happening. Touch wood! Forum still under attack from supposed subcontinental fortune tellers though.

Mr. Ninglun – thank you for your update. Would like to know if there were any actions that you took to correct the issue, please?

Hi everyone,
I’m not sure what’s going on for you all, but I’d like to take a look if it’s still happening. So if this issue is still occurring for you, please do the following:
1) Log out of WordPress.com
2) Clear your browser cache ( http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache ); this is important because if there was a glitch that was fixed, this will clear out the previous session and load a clean version of WordPress.com in your browser.
3) Log back into WordPress.comIf after doing that, you are getting errors or any unexpected behavior, please provide the following:
1) describe the odd behavior or errors you’re experiencing
2) tell me what you’re trying to do when it occurs (like clicking on the W in the menu, or other things)
3) what browser/browser version you’re using, and if you’re on a mobile device or a computer
4) if possible, take a screenshot and either post to your media library (if you can) or to a free image sharing service. Thanks!

@kp152 and @msraytarot
Good Morning!
Yes I did recommend clearing the cache, as the happiness engineer just suggested, if WP staff were working on a glitch and it’s fixed, if a user keeps using an uncleared page they will keep having the issue long after it’s been corrected. I got in this morning without an issue, so far. Off to see how it goes! Thanks Jackiedana!

To Jackiedana – Happiness Engineer – I just had to clear my cache – I use chrome on new macbook – and here is screenshot of my reader — which I have to sign in every time now and click on reader in my dashboard. Did not have to before yesterday’s problems.
Well, I took a screen shot of today’s reader page and I do not understand how to show you….
I’ll put it in my media library as stated…

I did clean my cache and erased my tracks, but I still had the problem until very early this morning when the issue was resolved on its own. You may have experienced a post-hoc coincidence.
I have no doubt this was a WP experiment gone bad. Just glad it’s over now. Thanks everyone for your commiseration and help — because it did help knowing I wasn’t the only one! Have the best!
-
@wingedprisms that looks like an artifact from a bug that popped up earlier and should have been resolved.
Could you please try logging out, clearing your cache again, and logging in, and see if that helps? Also be sure you have third-party cookies enabled for WordPress.com as that could be the reason why you always have to log in.
If you’re still seeing it, could you try logging in using a different browser and let me know if that fixes it?
