Why am I getting a 301 removed permanently Nginx and blank pages on my blogs?

When I attempted to refresh my blog rbo2.com, I got a “301 removed permanently Nginx” message. When I attempted to refresh and login to my trehezcooz.com (not yet made public) and hoocoodanode.com blogs, I got a remote-login.php string in the url. Both of the latter result in blank pages.

I cannot log in to these blogs or access them.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All three blogs — rbo2.com, trehezcooz.com, and hoocoodanode.com now show only the “301 removed permanently Nginx” message.

  • Howdy,

I’m able to pull up all three sites currently. I haven’t heard of an outage, but I’ll research it.

In the meantime, are you still unable to access your sites? If so, can you attempt to visit these sites and let me know if you see a very basic blank blog:

    http://luv.wordpress.com
    http://sat.wordpress.com
    http://iad.wordpress.com

Lastly, what Internet Service Provider are you using?

Thanks for your patience and for using WordPress.com!

After all three sites showed the error message for more than an hour, I rebooted again and all three came back.

  • Thanks for the information, Brenda. We didn’t have a widespread outage and haven’t heard other reports yet.

One possibility is that when visiting a site, a bad DNS lookup occurred and was cached on your system, meaning your computer kept trying to look in the wrong place for your sites. When you rebooted, the cache cleared and the subsequent lookup went as expected, resulting in your sites being back up for you.

Thanks for your patience and for using WordPress.com.
