Why am I getting the 404 Error message and can't publish my post?

Cannot publish post, tried twice with 2 different titles; Created a third NEW post with different photo, still received 404 error message. I don’t understand about deleting Hello World. As far as I know I have deleted nothing and not changed any dates.

Hi there – I see you published a couple of posts yesterday. Are you all set with this now? If not, can you please answer Timethief’s questions? That will help us troubleshoot.

I’m not “Timethief,” but I had the very same problem with my very first blog post from the http://wordpress.com/post/ and then I also clicked on same buttons on the dashboard. Now my very first post “According to VDC, What is an Emerging Artist?”, is only “published down to its first or so paragraph. Then it says, “186 more …” but I “click” on the underlined link, and I only keep going back and around and around, but not to my major content within those 186 words. Can you help me out here? Thank you.

Hi Timethief and Eurello, I have had this problem before a couple of times. I waited two days I think before trying to post from my dashboard and it went through. I have had the problem from both dashboard and post platforms. I’m not running IE – using MAC Safari. I will try and clean out the cache because I never know when this 404 error message might appear ALTHOUGH it has not been often and this is the first time I was so frustrated that I wrote to you. I wish I knew why it won’t upload and then in a day or two it does?

Hi Pbenjay – So, you have this problem when posting in Safari, both from your Dashboard and the post platform, but only sporadically, is that correct?
Can you please make sure you have third-party cookies enabled in Safari:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/Next time that you see the 404 error, can you please try posting from Firefox or Chrome and see if the same thing happens there? That would help us narrow down any possible browser-related issue. Thank you!
