Why am I not being able to add media ?

I keep pressing the ‘Add Media’ button when I want to post something but nothing comes up, I tried pressing it more than once, and tried refreshing my page more than once and still nothing appears…

Having the same issue – this has been going on all weekend. Only about half of my previously-uploaded images are showing up, and I can’t get new ones to post.
I am getting no answer from my messages to the help staff. This is unacceptable!!!!!!! My site relies on posting timely information….

Same! And i just started this blog of mine last week… I only have one post. I wanted to post my second post and add a picture with it but nothing happened when I pressed the ‘Add Media’ button.

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble! Do you have any browser extensions installed in your web browser? @throughmytinylens it looks like you’re using Chrome, in which case you can check your browser extensions by visiting this link in Chrome:
chrome://extensions/
Please try disabling any browser extensions you have installed, to see if the Add Media window appears after that. (If that works, you can re-enable your extensions one by one to find the culprit.)
If that doesn’t resolve it for you, please let me know!

Thank you pedger! rachelmrc, I did delete all my extensions and then went back to my website to try it this time and still nothing happens when I press the ‘Add Media’ button…

It sounds like something else in your browser or on your computer is still preventing the Add Media button from working correctly. Can you please try doing that in a different browser? That way we can narrow down whether it’s a problem on your computer or only a specific browser.

I tried to use safari and firefox but I was not able to find the add post button, I guess it’s different from chrome. What I did do though is upgrade my macbook software and then I tried chrome again, but still nothing…
Any other solution…? -

Can you make a screenshot of what you see in Safari or Firefox? There shouldn’t be a difference between those browsers and Chrome, so if I can see what you’re seeing there it will help me understand what’s going on.
You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.

It looks like that screenshot didn’t quite work. (I see an image of the file, rather than an image of what you see on the screen.) Can you try sharing that screenshot again?
On a Mac, you can use Command+Shift+Control+3 to capture your entire screen, and then paste it at http://snag.gy/ by pressing Command+v.

Thank you for that screenshot. In that browser window, you aren’t logged in to your WordPress.com account. Please log in to WordPress.com first, in either Safari or Firefox — you can use this link if you need:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php
Then, you can visit the post editor at https://wordpress.com/post and try using the Add Media there (in Safari or Firefox) to see if it works for you there. That way we’ll know if the issue is with your Chrome browser or if it’s happening in other browsers, too. Thanks!
