Why am I not directed to my blog when I click my name?

Hello, everyone: I am new here on WordPress, and I am having a bit of trouble. When I click my name, “Alaina,” my browser is redirected not to my blog (my only blog), but to a generic WordPress food blog without any content, dated January 2009. I did not create this second blog, and I am more than a bit confused.
How do I change this?

Do you have more than one WordPress.com username?
Here’s how to link your username to your http://myfoodjournalblog.wordpress.com/ blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

At least part of the problem seems to be that the name of your blog seems to be “a food journal” but your URL is “myfoodjournalblog”. You are getting directed to “afoodjournal.wordpress.com”.
Go to your settings and check to see what your primary account is set to. It may be set to go straight to “afoodjournal” in which case you’ll get redirected there.

My display name is “Alaina.” But, since this was already taken as a username, I chose “alainayvonne” as my username. Clicking on either name seems to direct me to the generic food blog site.
My “Primary Blog” is set to the correct URL: http://myfoodjournalblog.wordpress.com. The correct address is listed in both the Dashboard/Users/Personal Settings area and in the Settings/Domains area.
But sadly, I still am being directed to the generic site. Not sure what’s wrong.

It’s not taking you the Global Dashboard, is it? My Drop-Down list of blogs is moving too fast today for me to click on it (using FF on Ubuntu).

I’m not sure what’s changing, but earlier when I first saw this thread, I was able to click on her name “alainayvonne” here in the thread, and it did take me to that other blog. Now her name isn’t clickable, so I don’t know if resolution is coming or if there is further error.

zandyring, that’s just a forum caching bug. It’ll be clickable sometimes and not clickable others. The same is true for all accounts, and it’s only limited to the forums here.

I am now being redirected to my blog when I click on “alainayvonne” above as well. One step in the right direction! Thank you.
However, when I click on “Alaina” (my display name), I am still being redirected to the generic blog. For example, if I click “Alaina” in one of my comments under, say, the “rose water cream roll” post, I am redirected to the generic blog.
Might it have something to do with my display name being different than my username?

alainayvonne-It looks like you may have mistyped the information in your personal settings.
Look in your Dashboard under Users>Personal Settings>Account Details>Website and make sure you’ve entered the correct URL there. If it’s incorrect, update it and hit the Save button.

Existing comments can only be adjusted by the blog’s administrator.
If you had entered the wrong website URL, or your personal settings were incorrect when leaving the comment, it will need to be adjusted by the administrator of the blog you left your comment on.
The website URL left in future comments is controlled by whatever you have set in the Website field at Users -> Personal Settings in your blog’s Dashboard.

zandyring-Just so you know, one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. You can have any site title under the URL you’ve set up. You might want to read http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/ for a better understanding.

My top dropdown (flyout) left hand side is so sensitive and has been for 2 weeks now that it’s useless to me. I have been typing URLs for my blogs into my top browser bar because the second I try to click on anything in the flyout it disappears. This is extremly annoying. I cannot even log-out by using the fly-out drop down on the left at the top. The only places that my left hand side top flyout menu works properly on is when I’m in the Admin section of my blogs.

Yeah, we’re aware of the issue, but it’s only limited to the Forums area. The menu should work properly everywhere else.
