Hi Andy,
Thanks for reporting this. Based on your settings in Settings->Email Post Changes ( https://andylevesque.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=email_post_changes ), it should notify you when the post is submitted for review, with a subject of “[VentureSource Learning] Post changed: {{Post Name}}”
In testing, this is working on my test site. If acceptable to you, would it be okay for me to add myself to the notification list and perform some tests?
Thanks for your patience and for using WordPress.com.

Hi Andy,
I added myself to the E-Mail Post Changes list and made two test posts—one using my staff account which would mimic your level of access and one using a test account set to a Contributor level.
In both cases, I received notification of the published post and the post submitted for review. Did you receive either note?
If not, my hypothesis would be that there is an e-mail issue, either being blocked/directed to Spam or, if you use Google Apps, directed to the Promotions or Social tab of Gmail.
Thanks for your patience!

Hello,
Thanks for your help. I received two notifications, one was “Test from a WP.com staffer” and the other was “Test from a WordPress.com staff member”. When I checked the blog, I see one post “Test from a WordPress.com staff member”…I do not see the other post “Test from a WP.com staffer”.
However, I just logged in as a contributor and submitted a test post for review to my administrator account and I did not receive an email notification that I had a post to review. So now I’m wondering why I would be receiving notifications from WP.com staffer and WordPress.com staffer but not from another contributor?
I have checked my Junk and Spam folders and there are no emails there. Perhaps the emails could be getting blocked at the server level. But why would some be blocked and not others?
Thanks again for your continued help with this.

Hi Andy,
That is odd—the same system is sending out both the ones from my two accounts and from your accounts (confirming that staff-users aren’t prioritized in any way).
Let me check with our systems team to confirm that last particular message went out to eliminate something technical on our end being to blame before heading too far down a rabbit’s hole.
In the meantime, could you submit another post for review from a contributor account; I’ve added myself to the primary recipient list as an administrator to confirm that I’m receiving messages when that user submits for review.
The second WP.com staffer post can be found in the list of posts: https://andylevesque.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php submitted under my non-staff account that I had setup as a contributor to your site, assuming you’re logged in as an Editor or an Administrator.
Thanks for your patience; greatly appreciated.

I just submitted another post from a contributor account and voila, I received a notification in my email. The one I did 90 minutes ago did not do that. Did you make a change?
By the way, I realize now that the reason I didn’t see the second WP.com staffer post because it was submitted using a contributor account, not an admin account. Duh.

Hi Andy,
No change on our end. Our systems folks confirm nothing was blocked/rejected in connection to your account in the past few days. Based on that, I’m led to believe the issue may either be server-side on your end or something akin to a filter in your e-mail client rerouting the e-mail unexpectedly/lost in Gmail’s new social/promotion/etc tabs, etc.
I received the notice as well. I’ll keep myself on this site for a couple of days, if that’s fine with you, to help monitor, but for now, I can’t find an issue per se.
Thanks again.

Well it seems to be working now but it’s a little disconcerting that no known changes were made. Perhaps it was a server level email problem that we aren’t aware of. I guess we’ll just monitor it and see if the issue comes back. Thanks for your help!

Glad to work and agree, I’d much rather have something specific we could point to as the cause/resolution.
Please do let me know if you have further issues. I’ll remove myself from the notifications for your site.
Cheers!
