Why am I not getting the cancellation confirmation email?
-
Hi gang, I’m VERY new at this, so please forgive the newbie questions! How do I cancel/get a refund on my wordpress.com value bundle? I bought the bundle a week ago so am still within the thirty days in which I can seemingly get my money back, but whenever I click “cancel” and add my explanation within the “upgrades” section, the email doesn’t come. I’d like the ability to add a plug in or two, but am very happy with the wordpress layout and such, so I’d like to convert to wordpress.org and host elsewhere, but would prefer to get my money back from the $99 bundle before I make the switch.
Is there something I need to do other than hit the cancel button? I’ve waited a couple hours now and still haven’t gotten confirmation emails, so this very well could be just a case of me not knowing what I’m doing!
Also, I’ve registered my own domain through wordpress and have no issues with keeping it here. If I keep the domain registered here but host elsewhere, am I correct that I will then be able to add the occasional plug in to a blog or somewhere else on the page without violating the TOS?
Again, thanks in advance for the patience and the help!

No worries at all! I’ve still got about three weeks left on my thirty days so I’m in no rush. :) Thanks for the timely replies!

Your bundle included a domain registration.
Unfortunately, we can only refund the domain registration portion within 48 hours.
If you’d like, I can cancel and refund the rest of the bundle for $73.
As for the domain, if we cancel the domain, it can take up to several weeks, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it.
Instead, you can move the domain another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

Yes, I think that’s what I’m after here. But before we do that, just so I’m clear, if the domain is registered through wordpress.com, but the site is hosted anywhere else, I won’t be violating your TOS if I add, for example, an Amazon Associate plugin? I would be converting to wordpress.org, just hosting at GoDaddy or someplace else.
Thanks again for the help!

Not at all, our terms of service only apply if you have a blog at WordPress.com. If your blog is hosted elsewhere, you’re subject to your hosting provider’s terms of service, not ours.

I have canceled and refunded your bundle minus the domain as requested.
