Why am I not receiving my confirmation email?

I have not received my confirmation email.
I have tested and confirmed that there are no issues with my email account, yet I have not received the email from WordPress to confirm my email address.
How can I resolve this?

Check in your email spam filter and under your “social” tab in your gmail account please, if you use it. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

I do not have any “social” tab, nor any gmail account. Google is evil.

I finally received the confirmation email from WordPress just now.
For some reason there seems to be a very long lag time (24 hours?), apparently only affecting emails from WordPress to me.
I have not yet received the email from you, rachelmcr. But since I have successfully confirmed my email this issue is resolved.

I checked our records to see what might be causing that lag, and I see that for some of the emails from WordPress.com to your email address we received an error message from your email provider:
451 Temporary local problem – please try later
When there’s a temporary issue like that, sometimes the email will be resent for delivery at a later time to try to successfully deliver it — it looks like that’s what happened with the emails to your email address.
If that continues to be a problem for you, I’d recommend getting in touch with your email provider to find out more about that 451 error message.
