Why am I permanently logged in?

    Since the site was re-vamped I’ve been unable to find a way of logging out. There is no log-out button or link, that I can find. I received a dialogue box today telling me I’m unable to edit posts, presumably because I didn’t log in. But the option to log in didn’t appear when I went to WordPress today. And the site is so unbelievably SLOW. I have a very fast fibre optic cable modem connection. I was recently hacked into on here.

    WordPress.com is not slow loading for me and I used three different browsers for testing. Maybe you have a connectivity issue or a browser related issue.

    If you still have trouble Staff will need to know:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

    Thanks for that. Seconds after posting the above, I finally spotted the sign-out link. I had looked in the profile page previously but the link’s appearance is that of a picture caption. In my view it’s rather obscure and I can’t understand why it isn’t at the top of the page. But this doesn’t explain why I was, effectively, simultaneously logged-in and logged-out i.e. why was I able to post a reply but not edit my post? Re: the slow-loading: my internet use is extremely smooth and fast overall. We have a fibre-optic cable modem which is as fast as you can get in the UK. About 50% of the time I have to abandon checking for replies on here because nothing happens. I just sit here watching the wheel go round and round. Scrolling down the list of posts in the ‘Reader’ requires a LOT of patience. My browser, Explorer 11, is set to dump the history automatically. Thanks again, JM.
