Why am I sent to the bottom of a post when I click on it?

    Recently, if I’m not logged in when I click on a post, it automatically sends me to the log-in box at the bottom of the post rather than the top! Then I have to scroll up to the top to see the post. It drives me crazy. Is it happening because I’m a (usually very happy) WordPresser? I hope it’s not happening to everyone who tries to view a post!

    Many thanks for any help you can provide with this navigation dilemma. It just started a couple of days ago. And it does not happen when I’m logged in.

    Hi there,

    Can you walk me through the exact steps you’re taking?

    What link are you clicking? Does it send you to the comment form?

    Finally, please let me know what browser and OS you’re using, along with their version numbers.

    Hello, Chris,
    Mac OS 10.5.8 Good question about the browser.
    My default is Firefox, so I just checked in Safari — no problem there.
    So Firefox is the browser with the dilemma.
    I don’t have access to Explorer, etc., so have no idea what happens with them.
    Here’s the process, I …
    Go to catrutgers4art.com, perfect
    Click on a specific post in Recent Posts, or a monthly archive, or one of the table of contents pages (in the black bar at the top) …
    In all cases, the top of the post flickers for a second then the cursor immediately bounces all the way down to the box with the WP icon below “Leave a Reply” — and rests there until I scroll back up to the top.
    I often want to check something out or access the post to send a direct link to someone, and I don’t want to log in every time.
    Obviously, it’s not the end of the world, but gets really annoying after the first few times. ^_^

    Please pardon my temporary abandonment of the conversation. I appreciate your responses!

    Very weird stretch in there, but as of today navigation is a smooth ride, landing right at the top of the post.

    BTW, it’s Firefox 9.0.1
