Why am i still getting a 403 forbidden message
-
I am still getting a 403 forbidden message on my iphone 5 when I click on another blog name that has liked or left a comment in the notifications window. Plus the Wp app cuts out frequently when I tap on the right-facing arrow in the reader to see the full post. Many, many crash reports sent – any ideas? Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – the fix for the 403 error will be included in the next update of the app, but I don’t have a release date yet.
For the crashing, do you mean when you click the arrow to load the blog itself from the Reader? I’m not able to reproduce this on my end. Can you give me some example blogs that cause your app to crash?

Yes, when I click the right-facing arrow in the ipad app reader to access any of the full posts of the 20+ blogs I follow it cuts out and takes me back to my home screen. Just to make sure I cleaned the cache, history, cookies, etc. just to make sure and it still happens. I can on occasion get through by clicking on the summary text, not the title, not the photo, not the blog name though….

Is this on both your iPad and your iPhone5 or just one or the other? Do you notice it happening with any particular blogs – like, for example, does it happen more when clicking through to self-hosted WordPress blogs rather than WordPress.com blogs?

I am getting the 403 forbidden message on both the iPhone and iPad when I click on the right facing arrow next to a blog name (both WP .org and . com) in the notifications window. The problem with accessing full posts with the right facing arrow on the iPad has been resolved (just now) but many of the posts that I subscribe to often go “missing” – a quick scroll down the reader shows new posts but a second scroll down reading one post at a time often results in gaps where the missing posts were – this doesn’t happen on a monitor…
One down, two to go… -

Ok, this is the issue that will be fixed with the next release of the app.

Wonderful!

A screenshot would be really helpful to see what you mean here. Here’s how to take a screenshot on an iPad: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-With-an-iPad
You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s Media Library, and I can look at it there. :)

The problem with the WP app crashing when I click on any part of the summary post in the reader on both the iphone and ipad is back…
When I speak of “missing” posts on the readers on both mobile versions it is not a “physical” white space between posts but rather that there are between 5-10 posts (that I am subscribed to) that are not actually there: eg. a post at 10 hours ago then the next entry in sequence is another post at 2 days ago. I’ve gone back to the large monitor to check and have discovered that all the blog posts do indeed appear in sequence and now I have the lovely task of going over a week’s worth of entries to find out what I have missed. Not happy at all… -
Hi there – it’s difficult to look into this, because I can’t seem to reproduce what you’re describing. If you could provide very precise details about exactly what you’re seeing, that would really help – for example:
* On my iPhone 5, I go to Reader.
* I see the July 19th and July 17th posts from myblog.wordpress.com, but the July 18th post is missing.
* I load my Reader on my desktop computer, and all three posts are there.I know that seems tiresome, but it’s a big help to us in trying to reproduce. Also, screenshots are very helpful because they let us see exactly what you’re seeing on your end. Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot on an iPhone: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-With-an-iPhone
You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s Media Library and I can take a look at it there. Thanks very much!

The description that you have made is accurate except for one salient detail – it is not MY blog posts that are missing – it is multiple posts from the 25+ blogs that I am subscribed to. It is not posts from any one blog in particular, it is random posts from ALL of the blogs I am subscribed to. They are WP .com and WP.org blogs. I am now looking at revisiting the last week’s worth of posts from all these bloggers on my monitor (and who knows how many have been missed since this problem first started), cannot access any of these same websites from the WP app on either of my mobile devices due to the 403 Forbidden issue and am now resorting to a work-around via the mobile GMAIL app which does work very well thank you very much. There are two screenshots in my media library (one from the iphone and one from my monitor) that exemplify the missing post problem: the iphone reader shows a post from Hello Fig at 3 days ago followed by a post from Travel Garden Eat at 4 days ago; the monitor reader screenshot clearly shows 2 Hello Fig posts in sequence. This is not just one post missing here and there once in a while – this is 10+ posts not appearing at all extremely frequently. The whole point of the mobile app was to have access anytime anywhere – being constrained to visiting WP sites via monitor is not an acceptable option.

Hi there – thanks very much for the screenshots, that’s helpful. I’ve passed all of these details along to our mobile team to see if they’ve had other reports of missing posts from the Reader.

Hi there – Ok, our mobile team said they have had other reports of what you describe, and the next version of the app should fix this problem, too. It will be released in the next week or two.

Just wanted to let you know that the 403 forbidden message on the iphone and ipad is no longer an issue with the latest update – Thanks!
