Why am I still getting subscribers to my wordpress.com site after the redirect?
-
I purchased a site redirect from weirdlywiredworld.wordpress.com to theweirdlywiredworld.com . Yet I am still getting people subscribing to the wordpress.com site. Why is this?
Blog url: http://weirdlywiredworld.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

They are probably finding and subscribing to the blog via the WordPress.com Reader.
The Reader has an archive of sorts for older posts, so they could be finding them via that. The Reader does not support self-hosted blogs, so only the WordPress.com blog would be listed.

Is there a way I can find out? Because my stats Dropped on my site by more than half also!. I expected some drop off due to the change but I am still just trying to make sure that I did everything right. Something Seems wrong but I can’t quite figure it out.

Did you ask us to transfer your subscribers to your new blog?
If not, please install and activate Jetpack, and I can take care of that for you.

Yes, You Actually moved them over for me (Thanks Again By The Way) I have jetpack installed.
There may be nothing wrong but I was averaging about 4,000 – 5,000 total hits a day and now it has been less than 600 for two days in a row. Which MAY be right but that just feels like it should be higher if the .com site has the redirect and i moved my subscribers.
But I did lose about 100 subscribers in the move and am now trying to figure out how to contact them and ask them to sign up again.
Sorry I’m rambling now. Thanks Again.

You do lose a lot of the social networking features of WordPress.com, like the Reader, Topic listings, Likes, Reblogs, etc.
A good amount of the traffic loss may be due to rebuilding your search engine rankings, but that shouldn’t take too long.
