Why am I suddenly getting a ton of random-looking subscribers?

  Hello,

  I used to get a subscriber to my sillyhatbooks.com WP site every few days, but starting in the past couple of weeks, I’ve been getting more like 7-8 per day, and almost all of these subscribers have a very random-looking name that seems computer-generated, with no profile or picture or posts.

  The pattern feels spammy somehow, but I don’t see how this harms anything other than making me feel like my site is more popular than it actually is. Do you have any idea why this is happening, and what I could do to make sure that only real people sign up to follow my blog?

  Thanks for the report here. It definitely looks like some of the subscribers are spammy. We’re looking into this issue. I’ll keep you posted!
