Why am I suddenly getting adds on my posts?

  I have just started getting adds at the bottom of my posts. I dont know if this is the new word ads thing but I have had no email from wordpress about it and the ads do not even relate to my posts – it seems to be a lot of groupon stuff – how can I get rid of them? Thanks

  This isn’t sudden. WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

  I think the reason the question of why advertising all of a sudden has been asked is because I too never noticed it, I never notices video advertising which sometimes takes up more space in a post than what I have posted, and at first glance, the ad looks like part of the post, as if I added a YouTube video. Maybe the word ADVERTISING could be enlarged and the space allowed for the video made less, that way it would not over power a “page”. I did see that “The No-Ads Upgrade costs $29.97 per blog, per year” which is not a bad price to end this irritation calle “advertising”.

  I chose to purchase the No-Ads upgrade to eliminate all advertising from my blog.

  I recommend the No Ads upgrade to all my corporate and professional clients, along with the Custom Domain. Not everyone is in a position to pay to remove ads, but all businesses should be.
