Why am I unable to like posts on certain blogs?
Off hand I remember two blogs that this has happened: Raw Girl In A Toxic World and http://nerdsteak.com/. Each time I click a like button, there’s a pop up that disappears within seconds.
I checked today and I am still able to like some blogs.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you say that there’s a pop up that disappears within seconds when you try and like certain pages, what does that popup say? Maybe it can give me a hint as to what is going on here!

It disappears before I can see anything. It seems as if it’s trying to process the like but something prevents it.

Heya,
The like button uses a bit of javascript which can sometimes open a window in certain circumstances. If you have any browser extensions or anti-virus tools enabled which are designed to block javascripts, if you could include an exception for WordPress.com, that should allow you to like pages!

I tried looking into it. I really don’t think it’s an anti-virus tool. The thing is, it’s so random! Just now, I was able to like one website but not another.

That is strange! You mentioned two blogs which you couldn’t like previously. Could you give me the exact post which you attempted to like so that I can look in to this further?

My fault! I gave you the url for the post pages. For lateralloveausralia, the exact post is 2nd National Multicultural Media Awards Ceremony 2013. For reachingutopia, the exact post is The Myriad Adverse Effects Of Fast Food. For nerdsteak, it was Chef Tricks – Pro Tools. Hopefully this is enough. With all of them, I tried liking multiple posts. I tried refreshing their pages, etc.

Thanks for giving me those. I was able to use that information to go through and, acting as you, try to like those same posts. The Like button worked just fine and I was able to like both the lateralloveaustralia.com and the nerdsteak.com posts.
Have you tried using a different browser or even a different computer? It could be that a setting on your browser is intermittently preventing this from working. Alternatively, you might want to try an entirely different computer to see if the problem repeats itself there. If not, you at least know where the issue is originating!
