Why are all blog posts showing on Home page?

Using the Dara theme: I am just changing my Home page to be Static and to have two featured pages on the Home page. I thought that only the latest Blog Post should appear, but they all appear in a long list still. Please can you advise how to change this so only my latest blog post appears? Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

On the Dara theme, if you choose the blog page as one of the front page featured pages, the number of posts displayed is in accordance with the “posts per page” setting at My Site(s) > Settings > Writing > Content types. Note that this setting, independently of the theme used, not only affects the blog page, but also all archives pages such as year, month, and date archives, category and tag archives, author archives, etc. That, on Dara, it also affects the number of posts displayed when the blog page is selected as a front page featured page is a special case not relevant to most other themes.
See the Writing Settings support page. The Content Types section of the support page includes an illustration that shows the blog posts per page setting. The number can be changed by simply clicking on the up/down arrows. When you’ve reached the desired number, save the change.

    Thanks for the reply.
If I change my ‘posts per page’ setting to one, so that only one blog is featured as a ‘feature page’ on the Home page, will that mean my blog page will only list one blog post at a time too? Ideally I’d like my latest blog post to be featured on the home page, but my blog page to have say the last 6 or so…. I think maybe you’re saying I need to change themes to achieve this as Dara works differently from other themes?
