Why are all my pictures broken in Chrome, but show up in Internet Explorer?
-
All the pictures on this blog post (Back to Liechtenstein) show up as broken images in Chrome, but show up normally in Internet Explorer. The pictures show up until they are all finished loading, and then they change to broken. How do I fix this very frustrating issue?

This sounds like an issue with your browser. Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Also, consider checking out this article about dealing with browser issues.

Yes, I tried clearing my browser cache, and it did not fix this issue.
Note, that the same issue also happens in Chrome on Android.

Please go to http://whatbrowser.org/ to check that you are using the current version of Chrome.

Not sure what else it could be.

Hi there,
Do you have any browser extensions installed in Chrome? If so, please try temporarily disabling them to see if that resolves the problem. You can do that from Chrome’s extensions page by opening this link in your Chrome browser:
chrome://extensions/
If that doesn’t work for you, it would help to have more information about the HTTP Headers from Chrome’s developer tools. You can follow the instructions in this guide to get those HTTP Headers and share them with me so I can take a look at what’s going wrong:

Hi Rachel,
What happens is the pictures load in fine, and I can see them all, UNTIL the page completely finishes loading. Right when it finishes loading, all the pictures become broken. And it is only with the one post with URLs, the post with pictures in my gallery shows up fine.
I just tried disabling all Chrome extensions, and still have the same problem.
See this picture for HTTP headers from Chrome developer tools:

Hi there,
Thanks for checking those HTTP headers for me. Can you also take a screenshot of the Console tab in Chrome’s developer tools? I think I know what’s going on but the information on the Console tab will help me confirm that for you.

Thanks! Those photos are getting blocked because your site is served securely over HTTPS but those photos from Imgur are being served over HTTP.
In Chrome, you’ll see a shield icon in the address bar where you can click to show that insecure content from Imgur:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1342714?hl=en-GB
Alternately, as you mentioned, if you upload the photos directly to your site and add them to your post that way, they’ll be served securely over HTTPS and you won’t get that error in Chrome.

Thanks, I did a temporary fix by changing the imgur urls to https and then they appeared!
