Why are blank page titles reappearing as "Next Post" and "Previous Post"?

Making my page titles blank on purpose at http://www.scottjames.me.
At random times, the default “Next Post” and “Previous Post” titles reappear, even if I have not logged on to that dashboard to make any changes. Why?

Sure, please upload the screenshots via Media -> Add New in your Dashboard so we can take a look.

Yes, had tried that. As well as use other machines and other browsers. To reiterate, when I leave WP one day, all pages are as they should be (no titles), when I return a few days later, one or two pages (at random) have reinstating their default titles of “Next Post” and “Previous Post”. Very odd.

That is definitely odd. There’s really nothing left for us to go on as far as tracking this down.
If it ever happens again, would you please leave it as is and let us know?

Ok, that is very wacky. Do you have the same issue if you temporarily switch to the Twenty Eleven theme?

Have not tried switching to a different theme. Given the random nature of it, would prefer not to. Any idea is it is a theme bug versus a WP bug?

That’s what I’d like to figure out, but the only way to be sure would be to temporarily switch to a different theme.

Just long enough for you to confirm if the issue is still present. If you see blank titles again, we know it was an issue with Wu Wei (your previous theme).

Did you change the page titles back to blank, by chance? The default names are gone again.

No, I didn’t. Ok, that’s very weird.
I might have been looking at the wrong thing to being with, so the next time that happens, please take a screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New so I can see what you see.

Yes, that is what I saw. Very odd.
If you notice it again, would you please temporarily switch to Twenty Eleven to see if that makes it instantly go away? It’s starting to seem like Wu Wei can’t handle empty titles.

I’ve switched themes and I’m getting the exact same behavior. WP clearly can’t handle blank page titles for some reason. Frustrating.
Since you can access my account, could I impose upon you for a short-term fix of popping open the CSS and changing the page title font color to be the same as the background, so the text at least disappears?
