Why are comments quoting other posts appearing on my posts?

  Every now and again, I find comments waiting to be moderated. These comments are signed by posts on my blog, and contain a chunk of that post in quotes. For example:

  Author: Sassy!!! – Diggin’ Deep (Good Trouble) « Arik Savage

  URL: http://ariksavage.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/sassy-diggin-deep/

  Comment: […] I also had the opportunity to interview Lynda Mandolyn immediately following the record’s release. She told me where Sassy!!! came from and (more importantly where they’re going. Read more […]

  When someone links to your blog posts, those are called Pingbacks, which is what you’re seeing.

  Also, if you link to your own posts, you’ll also see pingbacks unless you modify the URL for the link to stop self-pings.
