Why are comments still enabled on some of my pages?

  Hello there,

  I have the comments turned off on a few of my pages (the comments box is unchecked under the “screen options” tab on the edit page) but the comment form still appears on the website. I also have them disabled for all new posts under my “settings” as well, but I created these pages before that was disabled. Any thoughts? Thank you!

  Hi there!

  The Comments option under Screen Options does not enable/disable comments on your Pages, it toggles the display of the comments on the Edit Page screen. If you check that box and then scroll down you will see a new box called Comments under the Writing Helper box.

  In there it will show any comments that have been left on that Page.

  To disable comments on existing Pages, you need to check the Discussion box that is next to Comments on the Screen Options tab. Then scroll down and you’ll see a box entitled Discussion. In there, uncheck the box next to Allow Comments and Update your Page. This will turn Comments off for that Page.
