Why are facebook embedded posts (photo album) not working in google chrome?

  I have embedded a Facebook post into a blog post: http://sustainable-nano.com/2014/03/25/the-mysterious-inspiration-of-future-scientists/

  It looks great except when you click on an image in google chrome. It opens a pop-up window that is funky and doesn’t work. It works great in internet explorer and firefox… clicking anywhere sends you to the Facebook post or picture or album, as appropriate.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there Lee, when I look at your site in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, the Facebook embed work greats. I suspect we may be seeing a difference because a) I’m on a Mac and b) our preferences are set up differently in Chrome.

  Let’s first reset your Chrome settings:

  https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en

  1. In your Chrome menu, click Preferences. (On your PC, you might have the option to choose “Customize and control Google Chrome” instead)
  2. Select “Settings”
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click “Show Advanced Settings”
  4. Scroll to the bottom again and click the button labeled “Reset browser settings”
  5. Quit Chrome, and then reopen it. Check out your website.

  Let me know if that fixed your issue. If not, I’d love to see what you are. Please send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there. Just let me know once you’ve done the upload so I can take a look.

  Hello,

  That fixed it. When I re-enable AdBlock, the trouble starts again unfortunately. I uploaded a screenshot of what it looks like: http://sustainablenano.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/screenshot-2014-03-26-16-02-10.png

  Unfortunate that this widely used extension causes this trouble, but good to know what it is atleast.

  Lee, Chrome is so protective of the security of its users, that sometimes the ‘bells and whistles’ of a site don’t work so well. Glad you know what’s going on, at least. Wishing you all the best!
