Why are image slideshows missing from posts?
-
Hi,
I’m having a similar problem to what is described by Member adrytatoo in your forums (“I cant see images”), which also started about a week ago (as hers did):
1) some of the images on my blog don’t appear, specially the slideshows
2) all of my 34 posts are appearing on the front page, but my settings (under Reading) are specified as 19 posts max per page. So up until a week ago,one would normally have to use the “view older posts” arrows at the bottom of the page to be able to see all posts, which were distributed over two pages.
So all in all it looks like some settings are scrambled or have disappeared for the reader, even though they are correctly selected by myself.
What’s going on? Please help.

All of your images seem to be appearing for me.
Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

Thanks for this feedback – unfortunately the original problem persists after doing as suggested, as well as when:
– used a different browser (Explorer instead of my default Firefox), also cleared it’s cache and history, but problem remains;
– went as far as re-installing Firefox, updating all plug-ins (Java and Flash were out-of-date), but still no improvement;
– lastly, I used a different PC, at an Internet café today, and the problem persists.I’ve also noticed that on the few slideshows that do load on the Home page of the blog, some images are from other posts and appear mixed-up with the correct ones.
However, if i click on one such problematic post to read it individually (e.g. “Alterations and Additions to Cape Town Society for the Blind (at Jakupa, 2007-2009)”, all images show correctly.
So it appears that the problem is only with the Home pages, i.e. images from different slideshows are mixed up, some slideshows don’t load, and all posts are appearing on a single Home page, instead of being distributed over two pages as per settings.
More suggestions please?

Hi there,
We recently launched a new featured called Infinite Scroll. This feature allows your users to read all of your posts without having to click “Next Page” links, and wait for the new page to load.
Unfortunately, it appears there is a bug that affects how slideshows are displayed on the front page. Please be assured that we’re looking into the issue.
In the meantime, you can disable Infinite Scrolling at Settings -> Reading, if you’re using footer widgets.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi,
Many thanks – I didn’t originally have footer widgets, but I created one to be able to disable the Infinite Scroll, and it worked.
All is back to normal now. Much appreciated!
Maria
