Why are images in posts shared with Facebook disappearing from the FB page?

Is WordPress causing the Featured Image in some of the posts from my page shared with Facebook to disappear once published & shared with the Facebook page. As soon as the WP post is published I check that the integration is working and that my post appears in the FB page. But now for some posts, apparently randomly, but not for all, later (may be 1-2 or >10 days) after the post first appears with image, the post changes and appears listed with just the introductory text and a white space where the image was! The hyperlink back to the orginal WP post is present and still works, it is just the picture that is missing. The image is still present on the WP side in the post / media library.

Thanks for reaching out! Could you please confirm if the issue you’re experiencing is specifically on Facebook rather than your own website? If it’s on Facebook, unfortunately, there’s limited control we have over how Facebook processes the post and its associated metadata to generate the post image.
Just to let you know, I checked the post on Facebook related to your most recent update, and the image is displaying properly for me:
. This could potentially be due to a browser-related issue, such as third-party cookies being disabled or cross-site tracking being turned off. Alternatively, it might be something else on your end. Regardless, it’s important to note that we have limited ability to intervene in issues related to Facebook.

Hello @staff-heroponriki thanks for the feedback. To confirm one thing you asked – yes as per my screenshots previously attached this is the Facebook side of things, which I’m asking about – so yes, I understand this may not be wholly under WP control / influence! (I assume you can see my two uploaded screenshots?…But as there’s no evidence of them here, I’m uploading them again below)
Perhaps it wasn’t clear from my examples – yes this one is ok, now, but without going into detail, it’s not representative as I edited it on the FB side – but in the two screenshots I attached you can see that for other recent posts, integrated from WP to FB, the Featured Image is there in one and not there in the next, in the FB chronology Very weird! It never used to happen this way all remained visible.
I’ve just checked again today which posts show the Featured Image and which do not. There are blank white spaces again, but different ones compared to my earlier screenshots.
I asked WP, in case you knew the answer for this. But I have alrready also raised the query with FB – unfortunately experience suggests they are very slow to reply, if at all! Thanks.

I’m able to get the image to show if I edit the post, remove and re-add the photo to featured and then update it. I don’t believe this is a Facebook issue, I’m guessing it’s a metadata issue on WP they don’t want to run down.

This just started happening for me too. Sometimes if I edit the post, I can get the image to reappear but then the next day it will disappear again. Everything worked fine until about a week ago. It seems very random which of my posts have a picture and which do not. They look fine when I post them, but then suddenly the images are gone.

We have been receiving more inquiries regarding this issue, and as @staff-heroponriki mentioned, it is an issue with how Facebook is generating the post from their end. Therefore, reaching out to them will be the best bet to get things resolved.Hope this helps.
