Why are LinkedIn contacts not counted as Followers?

  Facebook friends and Twitter followers are counted as WordPress followers, but LinkedIn contacts are not. Why is this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We don’t have a way to include your LinkedIn followers in your total at this time.
