Do you mean you are setting the visibility of the post to ‘private’? You can do that while you’re working on a draft, when you’re ready to post change the visibility to ‘public’ and then click on the Update button. Or did you mean something else?

    Hello!
    Couple Questions:
    1. Are your WordPress Posts being shown on Google+?
    2. Is your question about Google+ posts that are being shared privately rather than publicly?

Google+ is a little bit different than WordPress. Have you considered double-checking the settings in Google as the default for Google may be to mark everything “private”?

My posts should be public, most are in fact made public, but for whatever reason Google seem to make some private! Why?

After examining the issue it appears that Google+ does not have a specific “private” or “public” marking. What it has is “circles” where you specific to which circle your post becomes visible.
Is this what you find on your end? It could be a circle in your Google+ account is edit to display publicly.

As far as this applies to WordPress try these possible solutions:
    1. Go to Dashboard–>Settings–>Sharing and unconnect your Google+ account and then reconnect it.

    Reconnecting Google+

Log into your WordPress.com blog. Go to Settings→Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard and click the X next to the link to the Google+ profile or page you wish to disconnect.
Reload the page and confirm the link now says Add new Google+ connection, but don’t click that link yet.
Log into your Google+ account. Then go to your Google+ Settings page by clicking this Settings link.
Click Security on the left-hand side of the page.
Scroll down to the Connected applications and sites section and click the Review permissions link.
Under Connected Sites, Apps, and Services, click the Revoke Access button next to WordPress.
Log back into your WordPress.com blog. Go to Settings→Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard and follow these steps to reconnect.

Note: Disconnecting your Publicize connection to Google+ will also disconnect any other connections to your Google+ profile. Make sure to reconnect your profile following these steps.

    2. A consideration is adjusting your Google+ sharing settings on the Google+ side.
When you connect to Google+ using the Publicize feature there is a screen in which you get some options.
    A. Adjust one of these 3 options by clicking on them.
