Why are my blogs not showing the date they are actually published ?
-
When I publish my blog posts, the date it shows as the ‘published’ date is actually the date I first started writing the draft !! This is putting my blog posts out of Sync !!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
That’s annoying for sure. All I can do is (1) suggest you monitor datestamps and timestamps and fix them prior to publication where required, and (2) tag this thread for Staff attention so they are aware of the issue.

Are you using the new Beep Beep Boop editor?
Or are you suing the editor on your dashboard? -
I am a bit of a novice at all of this, how do I change a date stamp before I publish, I thought it was an automatic process ?
-
Don’t know what a Beep Beep Boop Editor is ? And no I am not suing anyone 😄 would just like an easy resolution to the problem.
-
It ought to be automatic. Just in case even though you are not scheduling a post see the images here please:

Do you go to Go to Dashboard > Posts > Add New
http://ericandshazza.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php and create your posts there? If the answer is yes, then you are using the classic dashboard editor like I do, rather than using the Beep Beep Boop new editor. -

I have now managed to change the date stamp on one of my posts thanks to your useful link, much appreciated 😄
I must be using the classic dashboard ?
I generally use ‘BlogPad Pro’ when offline to create new draft posts, when on-line I update the live ‘WordPress’ blog from the link on BlogPad

Hooray! That’s progress.
-
-
I have had issues in the past with Windows Live Writer – an offline editor causing the dates to stay at the time stamp that the draft was uploaded – I got around it by scheduling the posts a bit in the future from my final edit – then the post is published when the next person visits your blog and the time stamp set to the time / date your scheduled
-
I now have to go through my last half dozen posts and change the date stamp on them, if I can remember when I published that is 😄😄
And thanks to you, today I learnt how to do some ‘new stuff’, Happy Christmas !!
-
The ‘suing’ bit gave me a chuckle 😂
Me too but in my case it was a delayed response. As you can tell I am dyslexic. Happy Christmas to you too. :)
-
Sorry, forgot I was getting much appreciated assistance from two people, Merry Christmas to both 😄😄
-
I hope that was a joke about being dyslexic, if not, accept my sincere apologies for the chuckle ☺️
-
No apologies required. I have three learning disabilities and I’m visually challenged too, but my IQ is in the gifted range, so who cares? lol :D My biggest challenge is not to pick the wings off those low fliers who cannot keep pace with me in full flight despite my disabilities. ;)
