Why are my custom design fonts are not saving on my administrative page?
-
I recently purchased the custom design upgrade. I changed some colors and fonts, using the basic tools provided — I did not input any CSS code manually. Everything saved and indeed, appears on my blog correctly. However, on my administrative page, under Appearance–Custom Design, my “currently used fonts” are not correct. They are not what actually appear when visiting my blog. No matter what fonts I save and publish (successfully), my currently active fonts always say: “Site Title: Chunk, Headings: Liberation Serif, Body Text: Theme fonts.” Consequently, each time I go into custom design to make any changes, even to colors, my fonts revert to the ones I just listed. In other words, every time I go into custom design, I must change my fonts from the ones listed above to my desired fonts.
This isn’t a huge deal, because externally, once I choose fonts and save, they do publish correctly. But it is a bit annoying to have to do this every time I go into custom design to make any change, such as a color change. I hope all the above was fairly clear.
My blog is ethicalescalator.com. I’m using the Blaskan theme.

Also, when you click on the bottom of the blog where it says Customized Blaskan Theme, a sidebar appear on the left that indicates that i’m using Liberation Serif as a heading — but that is obviously not true. I am using Blaskan’s default heading. And so again, oddly, when going into custom design, my font will always show up as Liberation Serif. What gives?

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this issue. I see that you also posted about this in a couple other forum threads that report the same problem:

As designsimply mentioned in one of those threads, we reported this issue to our developers. They are still investigating the issue. I added your report so our developers can take a look at your blog, too, and we’ll report back once we have more news about it. Thanks for letting us know!
Please stay tuned while we work on this, and let me know if you need any further help. :)

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for looking into this. I know the workaround for now is simply to change my font every time I do anything in Custom Design, so it’s not the end of the world. But it is a bit annoying, and I just want to be sure that this doesn’t cause any problems down the road.
Pls keep me posted. Thanks!
Vadim

Hi Vadim, I understand the annoyance (sorry about that!) and I’ll definitely keep you posted. :)

This should be fixed now!
Could you try going to Appearance > Customize > Fonts and let me know if everything is working as it should for you?
