Why are my custom design upgrade fonts no longer appearing on my blog?
-
The past two days, the Custom Design upgrade fonts have not been displaying in my posts when using Firefox 8.0. The site also seems very slow when using this browser, which is my default when working on my WP blog. Everything seems to work okay when using IE8.
Thank you for your help!

Your custom fonts seem to be appearing just fine.
Would you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

I’ve cleared my cache and cookie several times, both while logged in and logged out. Very strange, but I’m still seeing MistyLook default fonts with Firefox 8.0! Wondering why the custom fonts are only showing when using IE8.

I just checked in Firefox 8 and they seem to be working fine there too.
Are you running any add-ons with Firefox? If you, would you please try disabling all of them?
-
Not running any Firefox add-ons. Could this possibly be related to my security software? Just upgraded to Webroot SecureAnywhere yesterday.
-
I suppose so. Do you have any luck when you temporarily deactivate your security software?
-
Nope. Deactivated Webroot and it didn’t make any difference. I sense the custom font issue is definitely related to the slow loading time of the webpage. It’s never taken this long before.
-
That’s possible. Fonts are usually the last thing to load, and the browser may be giving up before it gets to that.
Are you having slow loading times with any other web pages?

Just noted that custom fonts are appearing on individual post links, but not the Home page.

Hm, that definitely shouldn’t be a problem.
Are you definitely only noticing the slowness on just WordPress.com site, no other sites?
-
No slowness on other websites, occasional slowness with some WordPress.com sites, always slow when accessing my home page URL. No problem clicking through to an individual post on my blog from Facebook or LJ.

Hi there,
Your front page loads fairly quickly for me, but you might consider reducing the number of posts that are displayed on your pages.
You can do so at Settings → Reading in your dashboard. Since your posts seem to include many pictures, reducing the number of posts displayed should make your front page load faster.
It’s possible that your custom fonts aren’t being loaded for you, because of the excessive time it takes for the page to load.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve reduced my Home Page posts to just 3, but it still loads slowly compared to IE8 — and of course the custom fonts don’t appear on my home page. Custom fonts appear off and on when clicking on individual posts.

Hi there,
Could you try resetting your router and any other network devices you’re using?
You might also contact Cox Media to see if it’s possible that your connection is being throttled.
