why are my design tools not loading when I try to customize a theme?

  design tools didn’t load when I tried to customize the theme Twenty Ten. I would really like to use this theme, but I don’t seem to be able to load the design tools to customize it. In addition, design tools did not load for other themes, for example Misty Lake.

  When I returned to my Twenty-Ten-themed page http://www.visionsdublin.wordpress.com, it loaded the page, but on the page it said that it didn’t find the page that I was looking for, and provided a search box for me to use to search further. This struck me as being potentially linked to the problem with the design tools.

  a) If you mean the options under Appearance > Themes >Customize, you don’t really need them: they are all available via the dashboard sidebar as well (a header image is uploaded in Appearance > Header, a static front page is set in Settings > Reading etc).
  b) The Not-Found message means you had set your front to display a static page but then made the page unavailable (by trashing it or turning it to draft or private). You can go to Settings >Reading and set another page as your front.
