Why are my earlier posts looking like words typed over words?

Hello, where do I send the Screenshot?

  • Unknown's avatar

Save the screen shots to your media library – use a descriptive name – then tell staff-blorbo that you have saved the screen shots – he can then look at them

Ok. Thank you so much auxclass. I have uploaded it into my media library as godswordforwomen screenshot.

  • Yes, that’s definitely render lag.

Have you tried disabling the Yahoo toolbar?

Ok, macmanx, I have gotten rid of every toolbar and nonessential addon/extension in my FF14 browser, even my treestyle. I did disable cool previews, but it had no effect, so I kept it. I uninstalled yahoo and stumbleupon toolbars. So, I now have a pretty plain-jane browser, which is ok, didn’t really use the other stuff anyway.

Now, still at the same post where the trouble has been, although it is no longer garbles-words on top of words, it loads half or part of the words in the post on the white background, then it all goes black. When I force refresh or reload the page, some times it will show a little more of the post and sometimes it is just a while thin horizontal bar.

The red flag for me is that it only happens on this wordpress blog, at this certain post. It does not happen on my other wordpress blog, nor ANYWHERE else I go on the net. I checked my memory status in my wordpress dashboard, at least the media library (all I could find) and I am only using about 4MB of 3GB, so it is not that. I just question if it is not some setting or glitch in the theme or something like that.

Perhaps I will go ahead and delete some of the older posts where this is happening and see what that does. Sigh…..

Thanks so much for your help though.

Do you paste text into the Posts / Pages from other programs such a M/S Word?

  • Unknown's avatar

No, I type right into the add post box.

Although, a couple of the posts earlier than the one where the problem starts are copied and pasted from other sources. Hmmm. See, something says to get rid of those. Just a hunch. ;0

There is a setting – Dashboard >> Settings >> Writing >> WordPress should correct html errors – – I think that is where it is – – helps to correct code errors

Word and other programs can carry a bunch of junk with the past that messes up your formatting – you can past from other programs just make sure you paste into the Text boxes on the second line of your editor –

Enough people have looked at your site if you had a paste problem they would have seen the bad code – but it is easy to mess things up which is why I suggest you check the box as noted at the top

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I do have that checked already.

I am finding something as I am checking my old posts in the edit mode. There is a message at the top in a red bar that says there is a newer autosave of the post. Is it supposed to autosave from time to time on posts more than a year old? I have not made any changes to the posts myself.

Well I have deleted some stuff, but it just pulls the earlier posts up so that the problems happens anyway only on a different post now. I guess if it’s just my browser that shows this, no big deal. Hopefully visitors are seeing everything ok, as all of you are. Thanks.
