Why are my email (nonwordpress) followers not showing up in blog stats?

  I noticed today that the number of followers on my blog dropped. It seems that my email followers, the nonwordpress users, are no longer part of the blog stats, so my number of followers decreased dramatically. What happened? Why are they not included as followers anymore?
