Why are my email notifications being turned off?

  Hi Robyn,

  It seems now that I am not getting ANY notifications. I just checked my settings and all the blogs I follow are set for instant notifications by email, and I have not received any in a couple of weeks.

  Hey Ernie,

  I can see your subscriptions, but it’d help me out if you could narrow it down. Please give me the links to 3 sites to which you’re subscribed, that you know published new posts which you didn’t receive.

  Then, I can follow up on those posts to see if they went out to you or not.

  Your settings are configured so you won’t receive any of your email updates. You can change that here:
  https://wordpress.com/me/notifications

  Remove the check mark from “Block Emails” and then save your changes to your settings.

  That will make the magic happen :) Thanks again!

  Ok; here we go again. I did not make that change, but let me ask you, why are there two places for setting these options? That is really confusing and, it seems to me, unnecessary. There should be one place to control these options: “Blogs I Follow.” I don’t think to look at my personal settings because it doesn’t seem logical to me. But the fact remains that I did not make that change for the obvious reason I have already stated.

  Hi there,

  It appears as if the emails were blocked two weeks ago. I can tell that this action took place on the computer where you’ve taken other actions on your site. Perhaps it took place amidst all the confusion with your email settings/unsubscribing before?

  That control is connected to your WordPress.com account. It’s an overall setting that impacts all your notifications.

  The other page is for individual subscriptions, and those settings also impact your Reader.

  That is why the controls are separate!

  Let me know how de-selecting that Block Email box works for the next posts you should be receiving.
