Why are my Eventbrite events not showing in the Eventbrite widget on my page?

I have linked my Eventbrite account to WordPress and allowed access, but my events are not showing in the widget on the side…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Which of your sites has the widget with Eventbrite? I took a look but I couldn’t see it. Let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Thanks! It’s the-untamed-alchemist.com as mentioned above. It is on the turquoise menu on the left, under the regular columns category cloud. It shows “Upcoming Classes” in tiny letters and offers links to Eventbrite, but my events don’t show up.

Ah! I see why I was confused. I was looking in your widgets section, and here’s what I saw:

I was looking for the Eventbrite Widget specifically and instead there was only that Text widget, second from the top. I apologize!

It looks like in that text widget there was some code which was trying to link over to Eventbrite, but that is not what works. What you have to do is use the actual Eventbrite widget which we’ve created for this purpose. It’s in the pool of widgets to the left. I went ahead and activated it for you, so you can see it working in your sidebar (the text widget which you had is still saved down in your deactivated widgets, if you still want that, too!).

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns! Sorry again for the misunderstanding!

So, I had used the widget from WP and Eventbrite. I deleted it and added it from the list again and it still doesn’t work (though it does now look different!). I would ask that you go back and look at it again–I think you’ll see that while it has the list and calendar, it still doesn’t list my classes or show the calendar even though it is linked to my Eventbrite account. Thanks in advance for any new insight the second look provides.

You’re all sorted! There actually was a bug in the widget itself which one of our developers was working on when I got in touch with him. We got it all sorted out and your events are now showing both in the list and calendar view.

Go ahead and take a look and let me know if there’s anything missing from your Eventbrite list of upcoming events!

HURRAY! They are all there–THANK YOU so much!

Um, since you are so wise, may I ask on a side note if you know why the Nexus template I am using suddenly went from being four “boxes” of posts wide to three “boxes” of posts wide on the home page? It messed up the beautiful, staggered layout we’d so meticulously created…

    Hi Kristina,

Your theme is what’s called “responsive,” which means that it will automatically detect the width of the window which is viewing the site and adjust accordingly.

So when I few your site, I’ve never changed (or even closed) my window, so when I pull it up again, I see it the same as I always have: with your sidebar and then four squares on each row.

But then if I purposely make my browser window smaller then the boxes first get smaller and then go to three boxes, then the sidebar disappears (it goes to the bottom of the page).

While I cannot see your browser, I would guess that’s what’s happening for you?

I was about to tell you that’s crazy, but, lo, I was able to stretch my window by about 1/100th of an inch and voila, beautiful and four-wide again. I guess I should be prepared for other folks seeing it in multiple ways, too! Yikes!

You are wise and mighty, indeed. Thanks for everything!

Ha! I’m glad that you found the extra 1/100th!

I hope you have a really great rest of your week!
