Why are my featured images being resized to 280x280px (Sight)?
-
As far as I can tell, the featured image thumbnails next to each post on the front page should be 290x290px, so that’s what I’ve edited & uploaded my photos to be. However, they’re being resized to 280x280px and the quality is sacrificed as a result of this. I can’t seem to figure out why or how to stop the resizing from happening.
Any help? I’ve added a feature image to the first post here: http://conventionally.wordpress.com/

I replaced the picture with a 280x280px one but the quality was still degraded. Checking the image URL I see that the poorer quality one that’s used is this: http://conventionally.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/artbridge.jpg?w=280&h=280&crop=1 whereas if I just remove the “&crop=1” I get the original, better picture: http://conventionally.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/artbridge.jpg?w=280&h=280
Anyone know how I get WP to stop adding the extra bit to the end of the image URL?
