Why are my follower and Akismet counts wrong?

Hello, my Followers count on my Site Stats page has not been updating for WordPress followers. The count does not match the individually listed followers (I have more followers than the total is saying, and this has been going on for days). I have two other issues that may be related: 1) Sometimes I do not receive notification that a WordPress user is now following my blog (even though I have asked to be notified by email); and 2) I have noticed that my Akismet stats history page numbers have been severely altered in the last few days. I had a YTD Akismet count of almost 100, and now it is back down to 13. Any help you can provide on these would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Let me address each item individually:
The count does not match the individually listed followers
This should be fixed now. Can you take a look and make sure the numbers are matching up on your side?

Has this happened recently? Are the notifications finding your spam folder or another tab within your inbox for one reason or another?

It looks like your Akismet stats are set back to a much lower number than 100. However, it doesn’t seem to have affected your blog at all or let in any spam comments. The date on the Akismet tracker seems to match the date of your first post (3/2014). I don’t believe this is anything to worry about!

Hi Jeremy, the followers count is now accurate, thanks. I’ll continue to keep an eye on the followers notification emails – it hasn’t happened in a few days, but it was an intermittent problem. I just thought I should report it in case it was a bug. I’ll report again with more specifics if it keeps happening. Akismet is doing a good job of keeping spam away from my comments. I personally am not too concerned about keeping Akismet history, but it would be good if it was an accurate count. Thanks for your help on the followers count!

Not a problem! Please let me know if the follower count becomes off again. Also, keep me posted on the Akismet numbers. If they change again for some reason, I’ll explore further!
