Why are my followers not being notified when I post?

  My followers are not getting emails when I post. There was a 1month period when I did not post, when I began posting again none of the people registered as followers are receiving notification that I have resumed posting. Can I send out a bulk notification to all my subscribers that I am posting again? Can you?

  I am not seeing any posts on http://ptkdotnet.wordpress.com/. Is this concerning a different site?

  Sorry; yes, the blog is on http://www.pkjam.net, also hosted on WordPress.

  I am not seeing any email subscribers on that blog. Just WordPress.com subscribers. And while WordPress.com subscribers CAN set it so that they are emailed when a new post occurs on a blog they follow, they do not have to and can just follow through the Reader.

  Thanks for the quick reply. I can confirm however that several of the followers definitely DID request that they be notified by email when I posted, and these have not been notified. They assure me that they have not opted out of notification, just have not gotten then lately, inspite of always having received them previously.

  Setting that aside if there is no easy answer, is there a way I can send a bulk email out to all my subscribers at one time via WordPress ? Cutting and pasting the 70 or so subscribers email addresses into my email service it pretty tedious and I’d rather just use the list that WordPress already has if possible. Any possibility?

  That is not a feature that we offer on WordPress.com at this time.

  Thanks for the help, but since I can’t send out a message to all the subscribers I will do it the hard way an notify them individually. I don’t want to give out their email address without contacting them first and I might just as well contact them myself. It does point out that there is something wrong somewhere when they are not being notified, even though they clearly were a month previously. Also, it would definitely be useful to be able to contact subscribers via WordPress directly, and not hard to do either…..just a thought.

  My point in asking was that I noticed some of your followers are signed up to follow a particular post’s comments (with email alerts), for example. They may think that they are set to follow the whole blog with email alerts when they are not.
