why are my images misaligned within the column?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I wrote a post today about a nature photographer. All was going well until he asked me to edit the captions. Now all the edited photos are misaligned within the column. I have it set on a centered alignment. The photos have shifted so there is a white band on one side and the opposite side is cropped. Thank-you for your help!

    Hi there!

It looks like when you changed the content of the captions the width of the caption got changed also. I’ve fixed these images for you by changing the caption code in the text editor from:

    [caption id="attachment_752" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]

    To:

    [caption id="attachment_752" align="aligncenter" width="640"]

Let me know if this happens again!

Dear Shawna, Thank-you for your help. When I changed the captions, I did not alter the length at all. I was changing dates, for example: from 2010 to 2009.

Early this morning, your corrections were a big success; everything was properly aligned. An hour or so later, they were again misaligned. Using your helpful advice, I was able to correct them again. Hopefully, they’ll ‘stick’ this time.

    Best, Pam

Interesting. Let me know if this keeps happening and if it only happens after you edit the captions, or randomly happens even when you haven’t edited anything.
